About Rado Watches

In 1917, three brothers by the name of Fritz, Ernst and Werner Schlup opened the Schlup & Co. clockwork factory in the small Swiss town of Lengnau. In 1957, 40 years later, the company became Rado Uhren AG and released the first watch collection under this name.

Following Rado's history, you'll notice their ground-breaking innovations and discoveries. Their contributions to the evolution of the timepiece industry is undeniable. In 1962, only five years after becoming Rado, they introduced the Rado Original collection, the first scratch-proof watch of the world. And one of their most recent and greatest accomplishments is the Rado V10K collection--a series of watches made of high-tech diamond that record a hardness of 10,000 Vickers.

But Rado watches are known for more than just their premium materials. Since just 1990, Rado has won more than 30 international design awards for their avantgarde designs.
